LSC Old Boys Global Reunion - 2014 in Southern California
Global Reunion returns to Southern California in 2014! Our chapter has committed to host Global Reunion in 2014! In 2005, our chapter hosted Global Reunion and it was a great success.

La Salle Day Thanksgiving Mass - May 15, 2011 (Sunday) at St. Bridget Chinese Catholic church, LA
The LSCOBA Southern California Chapter hosted its third annual La Salle Day Thanksgiving Mass (LSDTM) at St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church (SBCCC) in Los Angeles. The celebration was coordinated by Henri Tran ('84). The date of this year’s Mass coincided exactly with the Feast Day of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Father John Lam, pastor of SBCCC, was the celebrant. Honoring the occasion were Brother La Salle Bossong and Brother Chris Patino from the neighboring Cathedral High School as well as Brother De Sales Benning from La Salle High School in Pasadena.
After Father Lam gave solemn blessing, the Mass ended joyously. Everybody was eager to take group pictures with Rev. Brothers and Father Lam at the church entrance and followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.

Hiking - April 23, 2011 8:30 am Monrovia Canyon Park
Our 1st hiking trip, guided by Stephen Chiu ('63) attracted 40 Old Boys and family to a wonderful morning walk at 1200 N. Canyon Blvd., Monrovia, CA 91016. Majority of the group had lunch together afterward at a restaurant in El Monte.
LSC Inter-School Athletic Championship Celebration Party - March 19, 2011 (Saturday) 7:30 p.m. Golden Soup Restaurant in San Gabriel
17 Old Boys cheered for our La Salle College in Hong Kong recaptured the Overall Inter-School Athletic Championship since 2003. Fulcan Fong (‘82) from San Francisco joined us to this very special party.
Spring Dinner - February 12, 2011 (Saturday) at East Gourmet Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead
Nearly 150 Old Boys, family and friends celebrated the Year of the Rabbit with graduates spanning from the class of 1940 to the class of 2014. This 10th annual Spring Dinner was highlighted by Master of Ceremony, Ronny Mok ('05) and AM1430 radio host Wasabi.
There were lion dance by Northern Shao Lin Kung Fu Association, games, raffle drawings and good food throughout the evening. President Raymond Ho ('72) presented trophies to the winners of video game tournament and MahJong tournament.

Entertainment Day - January 29, 2011 (Saturday) at Eddie Shek(85)’s residence in Sherman Oaks
Over 20 Old Boys and family attended for this year Entertainment Day. We played a video soccer game along with MahJong Tournaments, followed by a family mixer at Eddie’s home. Derek Chan won the video game and Stephen Chan '98 was crowned the new MJ King!
Rose Bowl Parade Decoration - December 30, 2010 (Thursday) in Downey
This year, our Chapter’s enthusiasts volunteered to help decorating the Downey Rose Float Association’s float named “A Stroll Down memory Lane” to the Tournament of Roses under the parade classification of self-built. Its float has earned the distinction of completely financed, constructed and decorated through voluntary contributions and help. Anthony Luk (‘66) led 16 Old Boys and family showed up for the fun event, a truly new year’s spirit!.
TreePeople Mountain Restoration - November 13, 2010 (Saturday) in Calabasas
We invite you to join our first "decade" event, hosted by decade class of '00, in a tree planting event organized by TreePeople. TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit organization that unites the power of trees, people and technology to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles. It is the first time our Chapter participating in this voluntary event and it is really meaningful for us to put effort on saving our planet.
Date: November 13, 2010 (Saturday)
Time: 8:45 am to 12:00 pm
Place: 1925 Las Virgenes Rd., Calabasas, CA 91302
Event will start at 8:45AM, please arrive 30 minutes earlier for registration and group division. Tree planting demonstration will be shown by the official supervisors, tools and gloves will also be provided. Each group will be assigned to work on a specific area in the park. There are no limitations or restrictions on how many trees to be planted in each group. Refreshment will be provided after the event and there will be a praying ceremony for all the trees we plant that day lead by one of the volunteer workers.

2010 Los Angeles Walk for Hope - November 7, 2010 (Sunday) at City of Hope in Duarte
2010 Annual General Meeting - September 18, 2010 (Saturday) at Mission 261 Restaurant in San Gabriel
35 old boys attended, including senior old boys Dr. John Wong ('48) and Dr. Po-Ping Wong ('51). We were all touched by Dr. Po-Ping Wong, who is 80, driving 2 hours from his house with his wife to join us. At the same time, we shared his joy in celebrating his son Dr. M. Ted Wong for being recently named the first ever Asian Chief of the US Army Dental Corps. In addition, we also had a several recent LSC graduates (3 from the class of 2007) who had just moved to LA joining us at the AGM.

2010 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival - July 31, 2010 (Saturday) and August 1 (Sunday), 2010 at Marine Stadium in Long Beach
In addition to hosting one of the largest dragon boat competitions in California, there will be Chinese traditional art demonstrations, Chinese Acrobats, traditional dance, hip hop, music and martial arts performances.
Our fellow old boys, Henry Chan ('70), David Li ('94) and Thomas Tsui ('95) joined the CACP (Chinese American Construction Professionals) team for the competition.
San Francisco Global Reunion 2010 - July 1-4, 2010 in San Francisco
On July 1-4, 2010, there were over 30 Old Boys and family members from Southern Californis attended the Global Reunion 2010 in San Francisco.
In a 2-day soccer tournament, our soccer team battled with three teams: two teams from San Francisco and joint team from Toronto and New York. Our soccer team won the soccer tournament again! We would like to thank all the supporters, cheerleaders and sponsors.

2010-2012 Board of Directors Election - April-June, 2010
The LSCOBA Southern California Chapter Election Committee would like to thank all members for their participation in the election. The Committee had invited Ms. Nancy Wong and Mr. Stanley Lim, independent CPA's to complete the ballot tallies and certify the votes count on June 5, 2010 under the auspices of Dr. Eddie Shek and Mr. Charles Tsang during the June Board Meeting.

Soccer Team Practice - Every Sunday 8:30am at Richard Henry Dana Middle School in Arcadia
|
The team meets every Sunday 8:30am at Foothills Middle School in Arcadia (171 East Sycamore Avenue Arcadia, CA 91006). We will start on the grass area for a light warm-up, then move to the main soccer field when available at around 9:30am.
Join us if you enjoy playing soccer, want to keep fit, or just like to hang out and have fun with fellow LaSallians in an outdoor setting.
