2008 Annual General Meeting - August 23, 2008 (Saturday) at Top Island Seafood Restaurant in Alhambra
All members are cordially invited to attend the 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of La Salle College Old Boys' Association Southern California Chapter. The AGM will be followed by a casual celebration dinner.

  Date: August 23, 2008 (Saturday)
  Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Dinner starts at 7:30 pm
  Place: Top Island Seafood Restaurant (740 E. Valley Blvd., Ground Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801).
  Dinner Cost: $40 per adult; $30 per student or child under 12.
  Meeting Agenda:
      1. Receive and consider the President's Report for 2007-2008.
      2. Receive and consider the 2007-2008 Financial Statements.
      3. Receive and consider the 2007-2008 Annual Activities Report.
      4. Present and discuss 2008-09 mission and activities plan.
      5. Discuss and vote on proposed bylaw changes.
      6. Transact any other business.

Please attend the AGM to share your ideas with and provide feedback to the Directors and Officers of the Chapter to help us better serve the LaSallian family in Southern California. Your opinion matters.

Any member who wishes to attend the Annual General Meeting and/or the dinner should complete the registration form attached to the official notice and return it to Mr. Charles Tsang ('83) by email or by fax to (941) 827-8493. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Thomas Tsui ('95).

Dinners with former LSPS principal Mr. Francis Fung ('61) - July 29 (Tuesday) and July 31, 2008 (Thursday)
Mr. Francis Fung ('61), former Principal of La Salle Primary School, visited us in Los Angeles. Over 20 old boys, some of them classmates with Mr. Fung, got together to welcome Mr. and Mrs. Fung over a couple of dinners. Mr. Fung shared some inspiring words and many stories of LSPS with us.

2008 LSCOBA World Conference & Global Reunion - July 4-6, 2008 in New York

Over 200 old boys, family, and friends, include over 40 from Southern California, thoroughly enjoyed the 6 days of festivities. Activities and events included:
  • Global Reunion Dinner.
  • World Conference.
  • Sports competitions: Soccer Tournament, Tennis Tournament, and Golf Tournament.
  • New York Harbor Dinner Cruise.
  • Sightseeing Tours to New York City , Atlantic City , and Philadelphia and Washington DC.
The Soccer Tournament was a highlight of the Reunion, as always ever since Brother Thomas first introduced the concept of a "Continental Soccer Cup" during his visit to LA in July 2002. Our 10-men Chapter soccer team, led by team captains Johnson Chao ('95) and Stephen Lau ('01), joined by 4 players from the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, won the tournament over teams from the New York / East Coast and Toronto Chapters. The results are:-
  • Game 1: NY/HK vs Toronto - 1:2
  • Game 2: NY/HK vs SC/SF - 1:5
  • Game 3: Toronto vs SC/SF - 0:0



LSCOBA-SC 2008-10 Board of Directors Election - June 2008
The LSCOBA-SC Election Committee would like to thank all members for their participation in the election. The Committee had invited Miss. Sherry Yeh, an independent CPA to complete the ballot tallies on June 1, 2008 under the auspices of Mr. Johnson Chao and Mr. David Li during the June Board Meeting.

The 5 elected Directors for LSCOBA-SC for 2008-10 (in alphabetical order) are:

Soccer Team Practice - Every Sunday 9:00am at Arcadia High School

The team meets every Sunday 9:00am at Arcadia High School (180 Campus Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007). We will start on the grass area for a light warm-up, then move to the main soccer field when available at around 9:30am.

Join us if you enjoy playing soccer, want to keep fit, or just like to hang out and have fun with fellow LaSallians in an outdoor setting. If you have any questions, please contact team manager Joseph Cheng ('72). See you at our next practice!
